Meet December's It Girl of the month, Kelyn Green. Kelyn works full time as a mechanical engineer and has a degree in architectural engineering. Her passion for wardrobe styling (her speciality), creative directing, event planning, problem solving, hair styling, modeling, photography and make up are a list of things Kelyn holds under her belt. Her brand "Thee Fashioneer" is the foundation she created for all of her many facets. Her ability to combine the innovative thinking skills of an engineer, her natural creativity, along with her love for fashion fueled her to transition what was initially an idea into a reality. Oh and did I mention she styles cozy wear? She literally does it all which caught my eye when I stumbled across her Instagram page. Of course I got the chance to ask her a few questions on self-love and confidence and here is what she had to say...

Q: What is your opinion on self confidence? (how do you express it? How did you gain it?

K: Self confidence is simply loving yourself, owning your flaws, and being content with how God designed you. Owning those not so favorable things about yourself is how you can move forward and gain confidence. For example I am very thin (naturally) and I have my moments where I hate it, I feel like so many other woman are more appealing but I counteract those negatives in my style. I may not be the most curviest girl ( who I feel do not need to do the most to look amazing) but I do strive to be one of the most well dressed. I exude my confidence in my style by taking risks and being okay with it. I exude confidence when I’m speaking with others. Standing tall in my decisions and visions even when people try to change your mind. You have to believe in yourself and everything you have to offer.

Q: What is your opinion on self love? How do you express it? How do you gain it?

K: Self love is similar to self-confidence. You have to love the skin your in, love your flaws, know your strengths, really know yourself like you would know someone else you love. You express self love in how you carry yourself in public, in those very moments you take a step back and treat yourself to a well deserved vacation or pair of shoes you have been eyeing. Just how a lady would love a man, know his flaws, know when he is lying, know his favorite foods.... she should know herself and every detail even the negative ones. Self-love is also reflected in how you treat others. If you don't love yourself how can you love others?

Q: If you could give your younger self a piece of advice, what advice would that be?

K: If I could give my younger self a piece of advice it will be to stand confident in who you are. Stop comparing yourself to others, what they have, what you don't have and focus on loving and growing who you are. Several years ago I allowed others to effect my happiness, to distract me. Although the hardships I have encountered are what made me who I am today and are the moments that broke me down just to build me up, I wouldn't change those moments. I would advise myself everything is for the greater good and these moments are hard but will make into a person you will love undeniably.

Kelyn is without a doubt, IT! To stay up to date on her brand or to just follow her to get inspired like I do you, can follow her on these networks below:
